I purchased to have a way to access a 100gb drive I removed from my old Gateway laptop. The housing is great quality, was easy to install the drive in the case. The USB cable is good quality, with a long portion and short (8") portion if you need it for a second power connection. I didn't need the 2nd connector with the drive I put in the housing.
THe case has an LED.. is green when plugged in and idle, and flickers yellow with drive access... I'm very satisfied with the housing... small, sleek, and easy to setup. Didn't need drivers for Vista.
The drive runs cool..very cool, and very quiet in the case as well. Great buy for the money, even if purchased at regular price... Would highly recommend to anyone !

Wonderfully simple to use. Totally plug and play on every machine i have tried (good thing since there isn't any driver/install disc). Light, compact and self powered. Everything you would want in a 2.5" drive enclosure.
Not as easy to swap the hdds in and out as other enclosures i have, but this one works for the application i purchased it for. It loads slow, or not at all, but that is also due to the drive i have in it. I was disappointed that there was no status LED on the front of the drive, but you can't really beat the price.

Bought this from Shop4Tech and received it quickly. Easy installation of drive - yes the screws are tiny! Have used it several times with several different laptop drives and it has worked every time! The case is very small and light which is great for transporting and it comes with a sleeve to add some padding. Doubt it would survive if I dropped it - not much space between the housing and the drive, but that seems normal these days. Housing is a lightweight aluminum and is nice looking! Hope I don't lose the dual end usb cable! Doesn't work with just one end plugged in.

Works great with my Samsung NC10 netbook. I was worried that there might be power issues, but to my pleasant surprise this worked without a hitch! Took about 2 minutes to set up.
Using with an old Toshiba IDE hard drive from a dead Compal CL56.
Other Thoughts: be sure that the hard drive you intend to put in here has an IDE interface, and not SATA! Most 2.5" drives are SATA these days.

Worked great with an old 80gb WD hdd. Screws are tiny but fit. Needs 2 usb for power but thats the norm. Runs quiet and cool.

Nice overall experience. The enclosure works great and I just placed an order for some dvd-r media. I hope I have the same results with those.
