This Eton FR250 American Red Cross Emergency Crank Radio is the perfect accessory for any emergency kit! This Eton FR250 features an AM/FM/Shortwave radio with 2 white LED flashlight, single red emergency flashing LED, emergency siren and a cell phone charger!

It has a built-in hand crank power generator that provides power without the need for batteries! In case of emergency, simply turn the crank and you can power up your cell phone and listen to live emergency broadcasts anytime. This Eton FR250 can also be powered with the built-in rechargeable Ni-MH battery, or with optional AA batteries or AC power adapter!

Living in central California, the most probable emergencies we face in OUR AREA are earthquakes and power outages. I am really impressed with the reception. I live in Oklahoma and was able to pull in a couple of AM stations from Chicago and an English language shortwave station claiming to be from Sweden. While atmospheric conditions can affect long-range radio reception, this is pretty impressive for such a small, affordable radio. The battery life seems to be very good with only about 30 seconds of cranking. This little radio packs plenty of features at a reasonable price. A must for disaster kits, emergencies, camping or even giving as a gift.
