I must have gotten a bad batch because I have had a 54% failure rate so far with this media. I have 6 successful burns and 7 failed burns. I still have 13 more discs to go through and it is not looking very promising. Very disappointing, I will be sticking with Sonic media from now on.

Surprisingly good result with Imgburn, burned at 6x. IDed as MKM Verbatim. I was shocked, hope they get some more in.

These DVDs are actually not bad quality. I have yet to have a bad burn with these. They even burn fine in my cheap dvd burner without problems at the 8x speed. In my experience, they DO NOT work for xbox 360 backups. Data files burn just fine even past the 4.7gb mark. If you are backing up 360 games, go verbatim, otherwise these cant be beat for the price.

I love the Matrix brand. It's versatile and has a very high rate of success when burning DVD's. I would have given it 5 of 5. The reason why I am now giving it 3 out of 5 is its new graphic design. The new design takes up so much space that there is very little room to write notes on it. The huge black area is all a total waste of space. Also, the new design makes it impossible to write the title on top of the disk where it's most convenient when you're filing it in a box with other disks. I am so frustrated with the new design that I am now looking for another brand to order. What a pity as the Matrix DVDs work great.

Overall, a good deal. I successfully burned this disc with iMac (2.4 G Intel Duo Core OS X 10.5.5) which has Optiarc DVD RW AD-5630A. The software is Toast 8 Titanium. To be safe I burned at 2 X. The burned discs played with a standard DVD player by Toshiba which I bought in 2001, a portable DVD player by Sony which I bought early 2008, and all kinds of Mac or Windows computers around me.
The only problem I had was when I try to burn this disc with older iMac (2.16G Intel Duo Core OS X 10.5.4, white plastic body) which has Matsushita DVD-R UJ-85J. The software was the same Toast 8 Titanium. The disc was burned till 50% and the iMac gave me "Hardware error".

Since they changed the graphic on them I seem to have a high fail rate and most won't boot on my 360. I posted previosly on how great they are, not anymore. I have about a 50% no boot rate with these.

Only one bad burn of the 50 I purchased from S4T, I use a Pioneer DVR-215D along with CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD programs flying at max speed even with these low cost but not cheapo DL's, A darn good buy!

when burning with imgburn, 100% of my burns end up as coasters. but with nero burning rom, they work fine. i'm using a standard lite-on dvdrw lh-16w. for the price, i feel these just can't be beat.

I'm about to buy my third batch of these. Absolutely - burn at the lower speed or you'll wind up with skips, pauses, and artifacts. Otherwise, this is a great product at an outstanding price.

For those of you not satisfied with this product, you need to burn these at 2.4x. I know it says they will do 8x, but if you want coasters, keep burning higher than 2.4x. I have bought 440 of these and I have a 97.9% success rate for these babies. I used to buy verbatim (singapore) that were twice as expensive....not anymore! With Verbatim I never got more than 98% success rate. SO the moral of this story is to burn slow. Slow=Steady=SUCCESS!

Thanks for the tip Ghaleon, it worked great. Was able to back up a 360 game that I was having problems with. Works flawlesly on Hitachi 47dj that is very picky about media. Used pioneer 111d with 1.29 firmware and clone cd version 5.3.

Just bought 2 25 packs of them. So far no coasters and I'm about 20 into the first pack. Quick tip to all those getting coasters with these dvd's... DONT DOWNLOAD/EXTRACT while you burn. I have a top notch computer and I was getting a lot of coasters with these until I realized that it was my downloads that were causing the coaster issue. Now that I have stopped downloading while burning everything seems to be going great!

So far 24 out of 25 were coasters from my first 25 batch of 300. The bad sectors were all over the disc. It caused the movie to pause frequently, especially after the halfway point of the movies(probably due to bad 2nd layer). The first 5 of the the second 25 worked flawlessly. Burned at 2.4X (burned first one at 4X) using Pioneer 115D. ImgBurn 2.3.2.0. Purchased over 400 of the Matrix 2.4X DVD + DL before trying out the 8X. Should have stuck with the 2.4X.

I had a greater than 70% failure rate with this product. I have had great success with all other Shop 4 Tech product media I have purchased. This one was a dissappointment. I do not recommend it.
