Sonic 8x 4.7GB DVD+R Discs are write-once recordable DVD discs that offer extremely high storage capacity. Once recorded, DVD+R discs can be played back in all DVD-ROM drives and DVD-Video players. Sonic DVD+R discs incorporate a number of key technologies that make them compatible with the widest range of DVD drives and players. Ideal for combined storage of music, video and data, transfer of video and large capacity data files, internet downloads and massive archival storage.

Compatibility

This DVD Media is compatible with most DVD Burners. Most burners were produced over the last couple of years have primarily been "multi-format," meaning, they will burn the "-R/RW" and "+R/RW" formats. If you have a burner that is single format, meaning, it will only burn the "-" format or the "+" format, please make sure you purchase the correct format for your burner. If your burner is multi-format, either of the two formats should work fine. For higher rated burn speeds, such as 16x media, your burner must be a 16x burner in order to burn 16x rated media. You can purchase higher rated media, such as 16x rated media for a 4x or 8x DVD burner, your DVD burner will just burn that media at a slower speed. Also, it is recommended that you upgrade your burner's firmware to the latest revision. For more information regarding firmware or compatibility, please consult your DVD burner manufacturer.

Most DVD burner manufacturers will only list brand named media as being Compatible, when in fact, most media manufacturers don't produce their own media to begin with. There are many reasons for this, but if in doubt, we recommend you purchase a small quantity initially to see which type of media works best for you. Frequently Asked Questions

I bought 500 of these on my first try. Why? Call me someone that takes chances but I believe in Shop4Tech and what they sell. I am ordering more DVD's as I used all 500 of them. Not a single problem. I have realized that if I ever have a problem with data skipping or a movie not copying completely or ssomething else, I slow down the copying process, even to 4X. Once I do this, I have never EVER have had a problem again. So, there... slow down! It may not be the DVD!

I have been buying these dvd's for quite awhile now. I usually buy them in lots of 200. So far I have had only one bad experience with them. In one batch half of them would not burn and I was a bit upset but I still turned out better than buying them local so, I will continue buying them unless I get another batch like that!

In the midst of looking to buy more discs...decided to find out what I purchased before and it was this brand...I'm still burning them and have about 10 more to go. Unfortunately, I'm not as satisfied with this as some of the other brands. Some times the disc was scratched a little on the edge or i would have to re-burn a movie because of some choppy parts - This scares me the most. Example: I burned a movie and it was just fluke chance that I wanted to watch it before giving the movie back to my friend. I pop it in and lo and behold there were a few scenes that went to pixels...not good, especially since the PC said it burned without any problems. looking at the disc i found a couple discolored sections.... my only hope is all the previous movies don't turn out like that. and there's no way of knowing unless i sit down and watch them all one at a time. i think i'll avoid them this time and why oh why doesn't shop4tech bring the old 4X+R's back? those were the best hands down! I don't burn at 8X anyway for stability. maybe its time to look for another shop4tech?

I was a bit upset when I couldn't get the 4x anymore and I read some "not good" reviews on these. I decided to try these anyway, I ordered 200. I have used 100 and so far everyone has turned out great!

The first spindle of 25 had 3 disks that would not burn and 2 that would not play. The second spindle, so far, has had 9 disks in a row that would not burn and the 3 that did burn would not play. I'm glad I only bought 50. I guess you get what you pay for. By the way, I've burned hundreds of disks so I do know what I'm doing.

Believe me stick to the good ol'4x 'cause these 8x arent worth the time wasted and other$$$$ wasted on programs and other burners.....Went out and bought a new L-O 1693s and a Sony --burner and to find out the dvd's didnt even burn right with those.Desided to get a couple new burning programs those didnt even work...One last attempt to get these puppies to work and be able to use them ,I burned in every speed,still no luck.So,I let shop4tech know what was going on and they are returning my $ back and now i'll be able to buy the Sonic 4x...THANKS VERY MUCH SHOP4TECH!!!!!!They get 5 stars from me but not the discs...Have a lite-on 1633s and lite-on 1693s both work great...and during this process I also bought a hp740i and it works great too.... by the way i bought 500 discs and used 67discs and not a single one works right (on inner ring says...DVR-x-47A...) dont know what makes the difference but burned other brands and a few other Sonic4x and every one is perfect...just dont get the 8x...tooooo much of a hassle... thanks

I recently bought a new burner and decided to try these out even though I saw the mixed reviews. I've been buying the DVD+R 4x disks for a while and never had a problem with them. When I got these, the programs I was running the movies through seemed to have no problems with the disks at all. About a month later I went to try and play some of the movies when I finally got around to it and the movies were skipping and freezing on me. I tried another then another. Same result with all of the movies. I went through about 75 of them before I noticed. I wasn't sure if it was the disks or the new burner. I just got in my shipment of the good ol' 4x disks and no problems at all. They play in all my players no problem. I will gladly sacrifice the little bit of time you save with the faster disks for the reliability of the 4x disks. So all in all, the 8x disks are horrible.

I've been using Sonic discs for quite a while now. Out of the last 300 that I purchased, I had 2 errors, both of which were my fault. I decided tu move up to the 8X from the 4X and what a mistake I made. 1 out of 2 is an error, even burning them at 2.4X they are still coming out wrong. I have roughly 70 of them remaining of my last batch of 100, and I'm going to archive them, and hopefully they'll make better data than video DVD's. I just ordered a new batch of the 4X, item #2206's, which I personally love.

I WOULD LIKE TO START OFF BY SENDING A HUGE APOLOGY TO SHOP4TECH.WHEN I FIRST GOT THESE DVDS I WAS VERY IRATE BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT I WASNT USING THEM CORRECTLY. THEN I FOUND OUT THAT IT WORKS PERFECT ONLY IF YOU BURN 4.35 GB ART 4X. THESE DVDS ARE A DREAM COME TRUE FOR THE PRICE. ALL OF MY MOVIES WORK PERFECT. I PLAN ON BUYING MORE WHEN IM FINISHED.
